It's a record!

The number of rides I'm offered of a morning as I walk from my apartment to work helps me gauge two things:

a) The hotness factor of my outfit, or
b) How I rate on the retard scale for walking 1.25 miles to work in extreme weather conditions.

Today was a record - 4 rides offered total, one from the same guy who's been offering rides that I've continuously declined since last spring (kudos for tenacity, though), two from unknown guys of varying ages, and one from an elderly lady in a new caddy that I probably would have accepted, if I hadn't just arrived at my building.

C'mon guys. Do they really think I'm actually going to get into an unknown man's car, even to escape sheeting rain or icy temperatures? Mr. Tenacity drives the most dilapidated blue and white Suburban I've ever seen NOT decrepitly rusting in somebody's front yard, and he was so bundled up today that I really doubt it even has working heat.
