Morning Solitude

5:30 AM: The twinkling runs of Maurice Ravel cascade through my brain like the first monsoon rains over the Cholistani desert. My clock ticks in the living room. All is quiet. Coffee's done. Bliss! Except for the whole going-to-work part...

Work needs to be bliss.

You sure know how to make 5:30 am sound attractive!

But my own encounters with 5:30 are not nearly so cordial.

Early Morning is lovely if you appreciate her properly. Most people who encounter her are in a rush to get somewhere else, or grumpy from lack of sleep, etc. Wouldn't you be irate too?
