Ahhhh.
I woke up at 6 AM yesterday morning out of habit, got up and opened the window in my bedroom, and drifted back to sleep... And when I slowly woke about 4 hours later, the robins and mockingbirds and cardinals were singing and a breeze was blowing and Jesper's kitty butt was all up in my face... Good thing for the breeze.
But (hah), it was lovely and special and quiet. I love waking up at this apartment in my little nest. Thursday night and Friday were filled with dancing, mom-daughter time, opera and friends, in no particular order.
Yesterday morning I allowed myself one WONDERFUL cup of coffee, had some breakfast, then went out for a run. I came up on a garage sale at which there were some really beautiful abstract watercolor paintings... And a series of racks of ballroom gowns, all in my size, tags still attached! I looked through them with increasing interest and made sure to get the name, number and e-mail address of my neighbor for a future more detailed perusal. I found the potters' guild on the capitol building lawn in a little kiosk at a wine festival and chatted with some long-lost friends for awhile before returning and hanging out with Pepper and Natty for the afternoon.
Natty got an awesome new car last week (jealous), so we went out in it and took my dad to buy a new Stratocaster. Afterward, it was a friend's birthday party (sort of a gothic bellydance theme), and then a USA Dance, and then Cookout, and then chatting, and sleep, finally.
Waking up this morning was wonderful. Coffee was made, so I had ONE CUP I SWEAR, and breakfast, but I fell back into bed and slept for another three hours. Today was Thunderstorm Appreciation Day. I took care of all of the necessaries (laundry, groceries, etc.), donated some clothes, washed my car, etc. etc. and now I am in a need-to-get-out-of-here mood. I think I'm going to get out of here. :oP
