My alarm was still set for 6:30 so that we could "sleep in" yesterday morning, and I slept so well last night that I would have never made it up in time to go to the gym if it weren't for the knife-edged accuracy of the biological clocks that tell cats when they need to wake up their humans. They were both in bed with me at 5:30 on the dot, stepping on my stomach and complaining, and I thought they were just hungry until I peeked in the kitchen and saw that they had food left in their bowl.
They just knew it was my usual getting-up time! Unfortunately, they do it on the weekends too.
Oh, and I've decided that I'm too organized. I need to stop this. I haven't made my bed in two days. :P
I didn't think I'd make it through the workday yesterday, but I slowly perked up and became moderately energetic towards the end of it... And then I crashed hard when I got home and would never have made it to Inga's for samba had S not woken me up when he called to chat after a choir meeting. I almost nodded off during the long drive, and was easily frustrated at the lesson. After each exasperated outburst, A would pat my back in his way and attempt to quietly encourage me, but I wasn't having any of it! I think I was just too tired to truly focus. There were four others from the team there though, which made it extra fun.
S had rehearsal for Carmen, which is apparently going to be pretty intense. We went to Mellow Mushroom afterwards and enjoyed the warm evening. I had a salad with mandarin oranges, pecans and chicken that really struck my fancy - what is it with me and fruit with my meat?
I slept like a champ.
Oh! S and I are planning a week-long road trip up north to visit my various family and friends at the end of September. We're going to take a detour to Chicago to visit Northwestern University, which apparently has an awesome Master of Music program, as well as one of the coolest PhD programs I've ever heard of. I'm so excited.
