Doo diddle diddle doot doot dot dee dah dah daaaaah dah... Earworm. And I only saw the show twice - although that song is in there twice, so technically I heard it four times.
Glerb. GLERB, I SAY.
Natty has a black cat named D'Artagnan, or Tantan for short. Tantan is the brother of my sunny, happy-go-lucky Jesper. He's a huge, sleek, pantherlike beastie with a personality as protective as a doberman's... Only he has claws AND teeth. One time when I spent the weekend with Natty and Pepper, I awoke to a strange noise. It sounded like a humidifier turning on and off in pulses. I opened my eyes and beheld Tantan sitting next to my head; he'd take a breath, hiss softly until his breath was expended, take another breath, hiss, and so on. As soon as he noticed I was looking at him, he frolicked and galloped away, hissing. Little stinker.
So. Natty was addressing her wedding invitations with calligraphy, and had a bottle of black ink open on her kitchen table. Pepper had gone to the grocery store, and Tantan had been allowed to play in the basement, his favorite place. Some time passed, and Tantan got lonely and eventually tired of his basement adventures because he busted out suddenly and rampaged all over the kitchen. He knocked over the ink and doused himself liberally with it before continuing with his frenzy, smearing ink all over the universe in the process. Natty flipped out, captured Tantan, and tried to clean up, but you know how ink is. Until it's really diluted with water, it just seems to multiply. Since Tantan is black, Natty had no idea where he'd splashed the ink, and he left little black paw prints everywhere, including on two of her envelopes. She wiped him down as best she could, and after scrubbing the grout and getting most of the traces of ink scoured away, she called it a night.
Tantan is a water-loving cat, and when he came into the shower with Natty the next morning, he must have still had ink on him, because he left more black paw prints everywere after he'd gotten wet!
Jessy is bad... But he hasn't been quite that bad yet - although the poo-painting episode was pretty epic. And he did chew through the ankle straps of some brand-new Nine West sandals the other week.
What's going on in my life? Reading. And running! Lots and lots of running. I've had some incredible runs the past few weeks - usually 6-7 miles per evening. And when I run, I contemplate and ponder and overthink and mull and examine. I'm not sure how good it is for me. I've also decided to begin saving aggressively, since I have a feeling I will be needing fiscal security here in the relatively near future, for various reasons. ;) This means that I may tone down the Bikram sessions, and eat out very infrequently - which is a pain, now that my singer is done with his latest show and has actual free time. A friend has invited lots of folks to Tir Na Nog tonight for an information session regarding a nonprofit she advocates; I'd like to go, but I know that my addiction to running/contemplation will probably win out. ::sigh::
Despite this aggressive personal fiscal policy, I couldn't help but contact a Raleigh flute teacher. I want to eventually audition for a community orchestra, and since I need to be 1st chair in order to get to play all of the little soloistic thingies, I figured a good healthy dose of quality instruction would give me my edge back!
On a sillier note, I have decided upon the shoes I'll be wearing as Natty's Maid of Honor! Huzzah! I'd prefer the heels to be 4 inches, though. ;D

Which orchestra are you thinking of auditioning for? I used to play with the Raleigh Civic Symphony and would highly recommend them. Or, if you wanted to get some experience fairly quickly, the Durham Community Concert Band doesn't require anyone to even audition. Just show up and you can play, and they'll gladly partial out solos on various pieces to whoever wants to (and can) play them.
I'd like to stay in Raleigh, but for fun and experience I'd be willing to travel to Durham! Hm, I had no idea about the Durham Community Concert Band! Just show up and play?
I should probably brush up on my skills first. :D
Nieta,
Have I been had by your opera singer on facebook?! I won't tell =)

Yep, just show up and play. http://www.durhamband.org/
As you might imagine they have a wide variety of talent, but they do pretty good with things.
