Fridaaaay!

I've probably practiced piano for 2-4 hours every day since Monday. I was up this morning at 5-something with my headphones on. I just can't stop. Last night, after a 3-hour dance practice with A (omg, rumba connection breakthroughs!), I headed to my parents' house, from whence I borrowed a few books - 15 Chopin Waltzes, Chopin Preludes, Edward MacDowell, and of course, Backstreet Boys (advanced piano + vocals); you'd be amazed what sorts of weird keys BSB wrote their music in. I need to steal the Hanon book to get my fingers back up to strength and speed. I have a huge book of classic stuff by Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Chopin, Schumann, Bartok, Mozart, and loads more. I've probably played the majority of the things in the book at one point in my life, and it surprises me how quickly my hands remember where they're supposed to go without any conscious thought.

I need to build my repetoire back up! I'm such a sucker for Impressionistic stuff.

So, I crossed several items from my weekly to-do list. I managed to chat with my grandparents, hear about Sri Sri Ravi Shankar adventures, learn the correct fingerings for Debussy's Arabesque #1, and buy S a birthday present (mwahaha)! From the short-term list: I've got my superawesome piano, and I'm dancing regularly and making real progress. Work work work this morning, piano this afternoon, and a movie with S (who got some awesome news!) tonight! :D Hopefully I'll get to finish Portal tommmorrrrroww (that is, if I'm granted permission to commandeer a certain person's computer)!

Life is good.
