Chairs and cats and randomness.

I discovered this morning that I have a medicine cabinet behind the mirror in my bathroom, after living here for so long. This makes my life just very slightly easier, since I means that I don't have to walk to the closet to find my lotion when I get out of the shower! I will soon conquer the world!

I bought an armchair yesterday! It's deep green and utterly comfy - one of those chairs you want to sprawl lazily across, or to curl up in its hug-like recesses with a good book and a cup of coffee or glass of wine. S and I made its acquaintance on Saturday afternoon, and I immediately recognized its potential as a reading partner and living room companion. Jesper has claimed it as his own and has already fuzzed all over it, little stinker. An impulsive buy, but ultimately wise. Many of the best decisions I've made in my life have been impulsive; but so have many of the worst. Maybe the ratio of impulsive to thoughtful decisions is just that high.

On Saturday we drove all over the universe, seemed like. Relaxed and split breakfast at IHOP, and then continued on my quest for glassware (Friday's quest was fruitless) and ended up spying aforementioned comfy chair during a microhurricane-like freak rainstorm. We'd originally planned to meet Natty & Pepper for brunch, which turned into lunch, which turned into nothing at all, since they got such a late start - but then they called and said that they were going to a little Mexican place, and asked us to meet them. We turned around to do so, but they called back saying that it was probably closed, as it was about 3 PM. I got slightly irate, but since it was Saturday, I figured they'd be open all day, and said so - I was correct, and we had fun. And then we watched Noir, and then had a nap during which I slept more deeply than I do at night, and a quiet evening.

Yesterday I got to enthusiastically relax! I had waffles and eggs for late lunch with Natty & Pepper and my parents, bought, transported, and installed the chair, and practiced the Poulenc song and some Chopin before my parents arrived bearing sushi and soup. We chatted for a long while and had excellent berries for dessert - blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. I read Perdido Street Station for a little while before deciding that I was just too sleepy from sushi and wine and relaxation to stay awake any longer. I went to bed before 10, for once.

Tonight: Dance, dance, dance! Samba, mmm.

the chair wouldn't look nearly so cozy without Jesper in it :D
