Ah, it's a cool, rainy, breezy day. It's marvelous!
Pet peeve: If you're going to buy really hot heels, don't walk on bent legs when you wear them. It smacks of heel naivete. There was a woman standing outside my building this morning as I walked in wearing my usual khakis and Rainbows (tsk tsk!) who was sporting some killer shoes. I admired them and was about to comment on their hotness, when she began to walk... Her feet would hit the ground and her knees would remain bent even as she put her weight onto them, causing her stride to resemble that of a swooning, lovesick ostrich. With an expression of intense concentration, she poked her neck out and leaned her torso backward to compensate for those bent knees. C'mon ladies, if you're going to wear shoes like that, you have to strut, otherwise it's a total farce, a mockery, a travesty! Put your weight down definitively and roll it completely forward onto the ball of your standing leg so that your leg is straight, almost hyperextended.

A large fat man taught me to walk properly in 5-inch spikes so everything since then has felt downright comfortable by comparison.
