Yes we can.

I am excited and thrilled about our president-elect, but very very upset by some of the council of state election results. They may possibly completely turn my worklife upside-down. It's difficult to truly stress me out, but I'm beginning to worry. I wish voters were more informed about their local and state electeds.

RH and I took a 2-hour lunch break last Friday. We sat outside in the sun under a flawless October sky and just talked. It restored some of my sanity. <3

I woke up in the middle of the night on Monday to an interesting sight... Jesper and Kiska were curled up together right next to my face with their arms around each other. Usually they take turns washing each other's faces before purring themselves to sleep, but they couldn't decide which one was going to go first, so they just licked each other simultaneously - French-kissing kitties! It was deadly. I was this close to perishing of adorableitis but I managed to look away in time...

Almost as soon as I arrived at work yesterday, I knew I couldn't stay there for one more minute. I had a headache like none other. I came home and slept intermittently in a series of naps that totaled to about 6 hours of snoozage. Woke up at around 3:30 with the same damn headache, and in a fit of disgust, took 2 Tylenol and 2 ibuprofen on an empty stomach with a huge mug of black coffee and went back to sleep... It took about 20 minutes for the coffee to hit, and when it did, it was loaded with wonderful, scrumptious drugs that completely turned my day around.

I see the pictures of all of the fun things that went down at DCDI and I... Lament.

Last night, I felt good enough to run a few miles, and when S got out of rehearsal, we went to his friend's house for an election party. It was low-key but fun and passionate and entertaining. There was an Obama "O" cake and champagne, plenty of spirited drunken banter and an outlandish amount of random expletive usage. S had too much to drink and was hilarious. We got lost in the rain afterward, took a rambunctious intoxicated detour and didn't make it home until around 1:15 AM.

Me: Oooh. You taste like you're drunk.
Steven: You taste like I love you!
