GLERMP!

Just when I breathed a sigh of relief after seeing 60 degrees on the forecast... More snow is predicted. This is the snowiest winter we've had in quite awhile, and finally it's coming on a weekday!

Weekend snow is no fun. There's no work to stay home from, cackling with glee and deep satisfaction as you sit in your PJs in front of your desk, Facebooking, drinking tea with your fuzzy-socked feet curled under you after waking up at 11 AM. You can't go anywhere, and if you try, you're likely to encounter other wide-eyed, brake-pedal-happy southern drivers. When the snow comes on a weekend, it's more likely that you're missing some core ingredient in a concoction you were planning and have to sit with your husband at the dinner table and munch on Cheerios.

I've been blue the last couple of days. Inexplicably so. Last night, I moped around the apartment, bemoaning my mopiness and being generally and specifically a downer. We ended up not being able to deal with the thermostat sitting immovably at 65, so we gave up and set it at 68, which is still damn cold. Not only was I mopey, but I was wearing black sweatpants two sizes too big, a gigantic navy hoodie with the words "LAKE MICHIGAN: Unsalted" emblazoned on it. My hair was stringy after being rained on (forgot my umbrella). My mood was sour after having to spend a couple hours conducting interviews with stringy hair. I conducted them! I didn't assist, I wasn't backup - I ran 'em. Not bad, for a little blondie in a black suit.

Luckily, I bought FOUR new albums in the past few days. Perhaps they will sufficiently distract me when they arrive? These are:

- Mute Math: Mute Math
- Phoenix: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
- Keane: Hopes and Fears
- Keane: Under the Iron Sea

I have a tendency to want to qualify and/or disclaim the Keane, but it suits my emo synth rock mood right now. It's the Phoenix that I'm really excited about. I bought it immediately after hearing the song Run, Run, Run, just that single track. I like the lead's voice.
