He then remarked that electrons like to spread out evenly around a sphere, but tend to jump off and charge the air when confronted with a point. I wondered aloud why the electrons want to behave that way, not expecting any serious answer, but my mom had wandered into the room to hear my question, and said,

Thanks for your comment on my blog, Nieta! I've enjoyed reading yours through Steven's blog for a while now. Your comment really hit home with me and started me on another way of thinking. I need to learn how to become an "intuitive eater" and recognize true hunger, instead of eating on a schedule. I feel like I have a handicap, and as soon as I can establish some normalcy, I can figure out exactly who I am as a person. I'm struggling with that right now.
Sounds like you've gone through a lot of the same stuff I have. I'd love to talk about it sometime with you if you're interested! Let me know!
Have a good one, Nieta!
