Sew Frustrated!

Sewing classes needed. Hrmf.

Well, at least I'm laughing about it today! How is it that I can thread the sewing maching properly three times in a row, and then fail about 20 consecutive times before finally giving up? I try to bring up the bobbin thread, and it tangles with the upper thread and arcs over the bobbin spool somehow, ruining the tension.

I wasted a good three hours wrestling with pairs of scissors, fabric, that darned (no pun intended) sewing machine and my own frustration. Meanwhile, both cats made fuzz-coated nests in the fabric I wasn't working with, and proceeded to chase and then unravel my practice bobbin, and I suspect Jesper ate some of the thread. Hopefully not enough to cause problems. We already went through that $1200 debacle and I do NOT want a repeat. From about 6 - 9p, forgetting to eat dinner, I sat there at the kitchen table talking to myself! I didn't get a thing accomplished, since I will have to rip out all of the seams I painstakingly sewed so crookedly. At least I briefly lived my dream of sitting happily in front of the machine, feeding fabric into its needled maw.

Speaking of needled maws, my toofs hurt. I had dental work done yesterday and had to suffer through a brand-new assistant who has never had dental work in her life. The key to being a good dental assistant? Suction, suction, suction! Dude. I was drowning. But, I am pretty stoic in the face of most discomfort (although I am a TERRIBLE patient when sick) and didn't say anything... I did grab the suction tube myself a couple times in the face of imminent asphyxiation. I later wandered around the sewing shop with my lip drooping like a stroke patient's. A horrible joke, but still true.
